Hi Everyone
I have so much pain that i feel that i can stand this bloody RA no longer.
I don't seem to get relief from anything.
I missed my blood test today as i was too ill to go. My GP has prescribed oramorph and morphine patches today so i hope they will get rid of the constant pain. Just about every joint hurts and my fingers are so tender it is painful to type this.
Any tips anyone? Sorry to whinge.
Love Shirley x

Hi Shirley, know exactley how you feeling, I was in terrible pain like you a few weeks back, my GP gave me the patches too. Started on a 5 then 10 then 20mc before feeling any better. Still have pain but it's what I call normal RA pain if you know what I mean. Hope you feel relief soon, Kathleen x

I would definitely ask for a Depomedrone injection. Hope you get something - let us know.

I agree with what others have said about trying to get a depo injection to knock things on the head for a while. Can you phone your rheumy nurse about having one? Kathleen x

Hello Shirley
Ah poor you you are really down in the dumps and pain will certainly do that to you. I hope the drugs work quickly for you. Like the other posts i agree on a depo injection may be a bridging gap for you. Ask Rhummy nurse or GP. I have had 4 this year to bridge me over whilst they sort out my drugs. No harm in asking.
Never apologise on this site as we are all welcome to moan and groan.
Good luck

Hello Shirley
Hope you are feeling abit better today and the patches are working.
I would go for the steroid injection, I had one earlier this year and it did work.
Just want to send you a big gentle ((((((HUG)))))).
Thinking of you.

P.S. Never think that you have to apologise for anything on here, it helps sometimes just to get it off your chest!!!!!

hi Shirley,
sorry to hear you are in so much pain ... i overdid things yesterday and am suffering for it last night and today, so a quiet day today for me.
i agree with the others a Depo injection would give you some relief and help brighten you. i've had 2 since being diagnosed in June, unfortunately the last one didn't work.
hope the patches are helping too.
take care,
Suzanne x

Hi
Wishing you all a pain free day.
Thanks for the replies and hugs! Much appreciated.
I'm feeling a bit better today, thanks. I think the morphine is kicking in now. I've got a throbbing head now!
I've already had a depo injection and i'm waiting to start ant-tnf drugs, probably in January. I was on methotrexate 20mg and lefluonomide but i got liver failure, collasped and was admitted to hospital for 2 1/2 weeks in August. I'm now back on methotrexate only but 15mg.
It's great to know there is so much support out there.

sorry to read about the awful awful pain. You just cannot think when you are facing this. now you are a little brighter- please consider getting a "dragon" software and buying a decent head set which is voice software Mine is the bees knees and if anyone in the family is in full time education you can get it at reduced cost. Beginning to wish I'd not read this. i'm about to start leflunomide on top of MTX which had been reduced to 15mg on account of the constant mouth ulcers and dioarrhea. Hearing about morphine patches hasn't given me much hope for the future either. sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

Hi
Mairead i'm really sorry that my post upset you. I understand from lots of the others on here that people do really well on MTX and leflunomide. Unfortunately i was one of the minority that it didn't suit. Don't be worried as you will have regular blood tests to see that all is going well.
I was silly to myself as i didn't tell any health professionals that i had bad tummy pains and sickness and diarhoea until i collasped and was admitted to hospital. I think it's all because you get used to experiencing pain everyday that i ignored it. I was feeling pretty unwell and we were also supposed to be going on holiday the day after i collasped so i just tried to carry on so as not to dissapoint the family.
Jenni thanks for the advise. I looked at the dragon software on Amazon and it looks fantastic. Do you have version 11?
Love Shirley x
